In 2015/16 MY, Ukraine can export 38 mln tonnes of grains, declared the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Taras Kutovyi on May 20. According to him, the export volumes heavily depend on the weather conditions, and the index can reach 38 mln tonnes with the carry-over stocks at 8.5 mln tonnes.
According to the official statistics data, in July-April of 2015/16 MY Ukraine exported 6.2 thsd tonnes of chickpeas, a decrease of 3 times compared with the same period of last MY (19 thsd tonnes). Since the beginning of the current MY, the export volumes of Ukrainian chickpeas to Turkey showed the most significant decline indices - to 1.2 thsd tonnes, against 7.3 thsd tonnes.
As of May 11, Ukrainian agrarians planted spring crops (including corn) throughout the areas of 6.5 mln ha, or 88% of the forecast, an increase of 0.7 mln ha compared with the same date last year. In particular, the planted areas of early spring grains totaled 2.4 mln ha, or 100% of the plan, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

According to APK-Inform analysts, in Ukraine corn will restore its positions in the structure of general grain harvest in 2016. Corn production is expected to reach 25.6 mln tonnes, or 44% of the general grain harvest. At the same time, wheat production will reduce to 21.5 mln tonnes (to 37%), and barley production will total 8.6 mln tonnes (15%).
As of April 7, agrarians of Ukraine started the planting campaign of corn for grain. To date, the planted areas reached 28.1 thsd ha in 13 oblasts. The planned areas under corn total nearly 4.5 mln ha, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

"The USDA's corn acreage estimate is surprising to the high side.
