In January-June of 2016, the production volumes of agricultural commodities in Ukraine decreased by 0.3% compared with the same period in 2015 at the expense of fall of production of animal husbandry commodities, announced the State Statistics Service of Ukraine on July 15.

As of June 30, agrarians harvested 1.184 mln tonnes of grains and pulses throughout the areas of 332 thsd ha, or 4% of the plan. The average yield totaled 3.57 t/ha. At the same time, on the same date in 2015 agrarians harvested 574 thsd tonnes of grains throughout 188 thsd ha, with the yield of 3.05 t/ha, reported the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In January-May period of 2016, Ukrainian flour milling enterprises produced 755 thsd tonnes of flour, a decrease of 5.5% compared with the same period in 2015, declared the State Statistics Service of Ukraine. At the same time, the production volumes in May 2016 totaled 131 thsd tonnes, down 20.4% compared with April, and down 13.5% compared with the same month last year.

The growth of soybeans production allows to Ukraine to increase the oilseed processing volumes, and in the season-2016/17 the index will reach nearly 1 mln tonnes, declared the Deputy Commercial Director on sales of oilseed crops and by-products at the agri-industrial holding Astarta-Kyiv, Ostap Palchevsky.
Poland was the largest exporter of beef from the European Union between January and March of this year, according to figures from the AHDB (the organisation for English beef and lamb). In the first quarter of 2016, Poland accounted for approximately 8,320t or 20% of the beef shipped from the EU to outside markets.
Since the beginning of 2015/16 MY, and as of June 10, Ukraine exported 37.292 mln tonnes of grains, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. In particular, wheat exports totaled 15.941 mln tonnes, corn – 16.8 mln tonnes, barley – 4.32 mln tonnes, and other grains – 231 thsd tonnes.
As of May 30, Ukrainian agrarians planted sunflower seed throughout the areas of 5.21 mln ha, or 99.6% of the plan, as opposed to 4.59 mln ha on the same date last year, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
