Ukraine and the EU deepen agridialogue

22  of June, 2016 the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine jointly with the Directorate-General "Agriculture and Rural Development "(DG AGRI) in Brussels held "EU-Ukraine agricultural business roundtable" within the dialogue Ukraine-EU agricultural issues.

The main purpose of the event - further cooperation between Ukrainian and European associations, public organizations and enterprises for the next step in the promotion of Ukrainian goods to European markets.

The official delegation was headed by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Kytoviy. From the Ukrainian side the event was also attended by the Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the EU Tochytskyi Mykola, Deputy Minister on European Integration Vladislava Rutytska, head of the Service on food safety and consumer protection of Ukraine Volodymyr Lapa.

 From professional associations attended Acting General Director of Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation Maria Didukh, the President of Ukrainian Agrarian Council Andriy Dykun, General Director of "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club " Taras Vysotsky, General Director of Assoсiation  "Poultry Union of Ukraine" Sergii Karpenko, General Director of "Ukrwineprom" Volodimir  Kucherenko and representatives of major Ukrainian agricultural companies  - " Agrarian holding Аvangard" group of companies "Agrofusion", "Myronivsky Hliboproduct", "Svarog West Group", etc.

The European side represented the chairman of the association "Agriculture and Rural Development" (DG AGRI) Susanne Marazuela, Director of Agricultural Technology COPA/COGECA Arnaud Petit and other representatives the leading professional association in the field of agriculture, in particular the European Association of Cereals and Agrosupply Trade (COCERAL), the European Association of Poultry Processing and Trade (AVEC), the European Livestock And Meat Trade Union (UECBV), the European Association of Dairy Trade (EUCOLAIT), the European Egg Packers and Traders Association (EEPTA) and others.

The sides discussed the current situation and opportunities for increasing trade between Ukraine and the EU grain, poultry meat, eggs and dairy products, including through a possible increase in the tariff quotas for agricultural products, and expressed interest in international projects.
