Last week, deminers surveyed more than 5,000 hectares of agricultural land in four regions of the country and cleared more than 3,000 hectares, according to regional military administrations. In total, more than 150,000 hectares of farmland have been surveyed since the beginning of the year, out of the 470,000 hectares planned for priority clearance.
The Commission proposes to mobilise additional EU funding for EU farmers impacted by adverse climatic events, high input costs, and diverse market and trade related issues. The new support package will consist of €330 million for 22 Member States.
