Lloyd's of London is in talks with the United Nations over providing insurance cover for Ukrainian grain shipments if a new Black Sea corridor deal can be reached, its CEO John Neal told Reuters on Thursday.
As part of the project "Development of the Trans-European Transport Network (Ukraine - Road Corridors)" between Ukraine and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the approach roads to the checkpoints on the western border will be overhauled. This refers to the motorway M-09 Ternopil - Lviv - Rawa-Ruska towards the international checkpoint Rawa-Ruska - Hrebenne. This road is the main route connecting Lviv with Warsaw and is part of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).
At the Three Seas Initiative Summit in Bucharest on 6 September, Ukraine became an associate member of the Three Seas Initiative. According to Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, this means that Ukraine now has access to all the tools developed within the Initiative.

As of the beginning of September, 699.7 thousand hectares of winter crops have already been sown, of which 654.9 thousand hectares are rapeseed and 44.8 thousand hectares are cereals (42.5 thousand hectares of wheat, 1.2 thousand hectares of barley and rye - 1.1 thousand ha).

The Ukrainian Grain Association has updated its estimate of the potential crop in 2023, increasing it by another 3.7 MMT to 80.5 MMT of grains and oilseeds. As a reminder, in 2022, the UGA the harvest reached 73.8 MMT of grains and oilseeds.
The increase in the forecast for this year’s harvest is due to favourable weather conditions and better crop yields than expected, although the area planted is almost 2 million hectares less than last year.
