Grain initiative": the number of ship calls to the ports of Odesa for loading agricultural products has decreased

In February, only 71 vessels were inspected at the entrance to the ports of Odesa for loading Ukrainian agricultural products by the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul (JCC). This is 17 vessels less than in January.

Such negative dynamics are a consequence of Russia's systemic destructive policy, which purposefully and unreasonably slows down ship inspections in Turkish territorial waters.

Ukraine and Latvia are working to further develop and strengthen trade and economic relations. During the meeting between Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Prime Minister of Latvia Krišjānis Kariņš, the parties agreed to continue the work of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Latvian Commission on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation. The ninth meeting of the Commission will be held in the near future.

As Denys Shmyhal noted at the joint briefing following the meeting, Ukraine was interested in implementing the logistics routes development project both within the Commission and at the high political level.

Yesterday, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announced three new partnerships to help Ukraine overcome immediate and long-term export logistics challenges caused by Russia’s full-scale war. USAID, Grain Alliance, Kernel, and Nibulon plan to make combined investments of more than $44 million to support storage and infrastructure expansion in Ukraine’s agriculture sector. The investments are projected to increase Ukraine’s grain shipping capacity by more than 3.35 million tons annually, bolstering Ukraine’s economy and bringing much-needed grain to the global market.
