Last night, the bulk carrier NEGMAR CICEK was moored in the port of Chornomorsk, and as of 08:00 on March 20, 7,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat were loaded on board.
This is the sixth vessel under the GrainFromUkraine program, which aims to provide Ukrainian wheat to countries suffering from hunger.
More than 30 countries and institutions have already joined the program, which was initiated by Volodymyr Zelenskyy and is being implemented with the support of the UN World Food Programme. In particular, the provision of humanitarian wheat to Yemen was made possible by donations from the governments of the United States, France, and Spain.
Within the framework of the GrainFromUkraine program, the most vulnerable countries in Africa – Somalia, Ethiopia, and Kenya – have already received 140,000 tonnes of wheat.
Under the auspices of WFP, Ethiopia will receive another 30,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat. Loading of the bulk carrier DENIZ M has begun in the port of Odesa.
Yesterday, 3 vessels with 154,000 tonnes of agricultural products for Asia and Europe left the ports of Greater Odesa. Since August 1,828 vessels have left the ports of Greater Odesa, exporting 25.2 million tonnes of Ukrainian food to Asia, Europe, and Africa.
