Ukraine: Illichevsk port increased cargo shipment by 1.8%

According to the data of Illichevsk sea trading port (Odessa oblast, Ukraine), during August and eight months of 2009, the port fulfilled own cargo shipment plan by 101.8 and 99.2% respectively. In August, the general cargo processing of the port totaled 1.5 mln tonnes, during January-August – 10.94 mln tonnes.

At the same time, in August 2009, the cargo flow of Illichevsk sea trading port lowered by 13.3% compared to the previous year. The cargo flow of general commodities from the port decreased by 26.3%, bulk cargoes shipment decreased by 0.4%, fluid cargoes shipment increased by 14.3%.

The following cargoes showed the highest rates of growth of shipment volumes compared to the same month of 2008: pig-iron (up 32.6%), sunflower oil (up 148.5%), ore (up 96.1%).
