Ukraine decreased nitrogenous fertilizers production by 24%

During January-September of 2009, enterprises of the chemical industry of Ukraine decreased production volumes of nitrogenous and mineral fertilizers by 24.4% compared to the same period of the previous year – to 1.6 mln tonnes, declared the State Committee of Statistics of Ukraine.

In September 2009, production volumes of nitrogenous fertilizers in Ukraine increased by 16.4% compared to August and totaled 171 thsd tonnes, but lowered by 16.8% compared to September 2008.

During January-September of 2009, Ukraine increased production volumes of pesticides and other agricultural chemical products by 35.4% compared to the same period of 2008 – to 6.3 mln tonnes. In September 2009, production volumes of pesticides and other agricultural chemical products totaled 833 thsd tonnes, up 37.5% compared to August 2009.
