The port in Izmail was attacked at night by Russian "Shahed" drones. The Prosecutor General's Office reported significant destruction.

Massive UAV attack on the port and industrial infrastructure of Odesa - an investigation has been launched.

Under the procedural leadership of the Izmail district prosecutor's office, a pre-trial investigation was started on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, on the night of August 2, the armed forces of the Russian Federation carried out a drone attack on Odesa region. The enemy attacked the facilities of the port and industrial infrastructure of the Danube.

As a result of the shelling, the elevator, grain hangars, tanks of one of the cargo terminals, production, warehouse and administrative premises were damaged and destroyed.

Also, the three-story building of "Morvokzal" (marine terminal), which was restored only four years ago, suffered significant destruction.

Preliminary attacks were carried out by attack drones.

The inspection is ongoing, a complete list of destruction and damage is being established. Prosecutors work at the scene of the events in cooperation with other law enforcement officers, who record the consequences of the shooting.

It is worth reminding that on July 24, Russia attacked another Danube port - "Reni" with drones. Then grain warehouses, other port infrastructure and ships were also damaged or destroyed.

Russia has begun attacking smaller ports in the Danube Region, after withdrawing from the Black Sea Grain Initiative and threatening to attack ships going to three Odesa ports that participated in the "grain deal": "Odesa", "Pivdennyi", "Chornomorsk".

The Ukrainian Danube region is represented by three main ports: Izmail, Reni and Ust-Dunaisk seaports.

As long as Western countries do not impose sanctions on the Russian agri-food sector, Russia does not shy away from striking Ukrainian food facilities, exposing the world to a food crisis.

These three ports are currently the only working seaports of Ukraine. All other ports do not work due to Russia's occupation (ports of Kherson, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia regions and Crimea) or blockade of the Black Sea (ports of Odesa and Mykolaiv regions).

By rail and road, Ukraine can export only 1.5-2 million tons of agricultural products, which is 5 times less than needed.
