The volume of the quota for the export of wheat from Ukraine in 2024/25 MY is proposed to be set at the level of 16.2 million tonnes, while the quota for the export of wheat with a protein content of 11% and above is proposed at the level of 4.6 million tonnes. Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotskyi announced this during his speech at the Trend & Hedge Club on August 21.

"The memorandum between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the participants of the grain market has been signed, and currently there is a discussion about an addendum to the memorandum, namely the agreement of positions regarding the wheat export quota. The basic proposal that we proposed for discussion is 16.2 million tonnes of wheat," said T. Vysotskyi, explaining that this indicator is based on the assessment of the wheat harvest in Ukraine in the current season at the level of 21.8 million tonnes.

"We expect that everyone will agree with this amount. There is a second question on which opinions diverged. The processing industry proposed to create a sub-quota for the export of wheat with a protein content of 11% and higher at the level of 4.6 million tonnes. By the end of the week, we are waiting for the positions of the parties to finalize the annex to the memorandum," T. Vysotskyi explained.

He also added that there is currently no question of restricting the export of other crops.
