During January-September, Russia exported over 11.8 mln tonnes of wheat

According to the data of the Bank of Russia, during January-September of 2009, the foreign trade turnover of Russia totaled 339.8 bln USD (57.4% to January-September of 2008), including exports – 208.2 bln USD (55.7%), imports – 131.5 bln USD (60.2%).

Export surplus remained positive – 76.7 bln USD (in January-September period of 2008 – 155 bln USD), declared the Federal Service of State Statistics (Rosstat).

According to the data of Rosstat, in the reporting period of 2009, grain exports from Russia totaled 16077 thsd tonnes, an increase of 2.2 times compared to the same period of 2008. The country exported 11892 thsd tonnes of wheat and meslin (179% to th previous year level) and 2948 thsd tonnes of barley (up 3.9 times).
Rapeseed exports from Russia increased by 5.3 times – to 94.4 thsd tonnes, sunflower seed – by 3.6 times and totaled 102 thsd tonnes.
