The bulk carrier NEGMAR CICEK, the sixth vessel under the Grain From Ukraine programme, has left the port of Chornomorsk and joined the caravan of three other vessels.

Yemen is a country in Asia that is suffering from a food crisis. The country will receive 30,000 tonnes of humanitarian Ukrainian wheat thanks to donations from the governments of the United States, France, and Spain.

Since the start of the Grain From Ukraine programme, the ports of Greater Odesa have shipped 170,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat to such needy countries as Ethiopia, Somalia, Yemen, and Kenya.

The Grain From Ukraine programme was launched by Volodymyr Zelenskyy to unite developed countries around food aid to countries on the brink of famine. The programme is implemented with the support of the UN World Food Programme.

Grain Initiative: Another cargo of 150,000 tonnes of agricultural products shipped to Asian countries

Today, on March 27, the ports of Chornomorsk and Pivdenny have sent 3 vessels with food for Asian countries. Among them is the bulk carrier ASL ILEANA with 54,600 tonnes of wheat for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is facing an economic crisis that has left the population struggling to buy food at high prices. At the same time, the country remains a key consumer of Ukrainian wheat - since the launch of the Grain Initiative, the country has received more than 710,000 tonnes of wheat from Ukraine.

These volumes could have been higher if the russians had not deliberately slowed down ship inspections in Turkey.

Moreover, thanks to the Grain Initiative and the availability of Ukrainian grain on the market, global food prices are being kept from rising further. This allows countries such as Bangladesh to provide food to their population.

Since August 1, 848 vessels have left the ports of Greater Odesa, exporting 25,900,000 million tonnes of Ukrainian food to Asia, Europe and Africa. Currently, 19 vessels are loading 680,000 tonnes of agricultural products in the ports of Greater Odesa. Three vessels are moving along the grain corridor for loading.

The situation with inspections in Turkey's territorial waters is steadily difficult: an average of 6 inspections per day are carried out both at the entrance to and exit from ports (half of the approved plan), while 94 vessels are waiting in line for inspection.
