On May 2, 2023, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law terminating the agreement between the government of Ukraine and the government of the Syrian Arab Republic on trade, economic and technical cooperation.

From May 2, according to the decision of the European Commission, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia undertake to cancel their unilateral measures regarding the import of agricultural products coming from Ukraine.
