It is important that the state buys the crop from the farmers with European funds, so that they could have the opportunity to work further.

Dmytro Solomchuk, MP and a member of Verkhovna Rada’s Agrarian and Land Policy Committee made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“We are waiting for the decision of the European Union to allocate a considerable amount of money to buy some part of Ukrainian grain from Ukrainian farmers, so that they could have funds for sowing, and funds to pay for their shares of land. It is approximately EUR 1 billion. We’ll see how soon they will make these decisions. But it would be very important for the state to buy the harvest from them with European funds. Maybe it will be temporarily put in storage, but they will have funds for further work,” he explained.

At the same time, the MP expressed hope that the borders for the export of Ukrainian products will be opened and there will be a possibility to further supply products to world markets.

“We hope that the elections in our friendly countries will be completed as soon as possible, they will open the borders and these issues will never arise between us, and we will together with them capture more and more world markets, since our agriculture is quite developed, and so is Poland’s. And, if we do not jointly conquer new markets and do not supply products there, then with such decisions we will open a green corridor for supplies from russia,” he added.
