Ukraine exported 1.2 MMT of wheat in April 2017 that is down 8% year-on-year (1.3 MMT in April 2016).

When compared season on season, Ukrainian wheat exports are currently up 11% against July-April 2015/16 (15.8 MMT and 14.2 MMT, respectively).

Following the closure of Indian demand, Egypt was the top destination for Ukrainian wheat exports for a second month in a row. Ukraine supplied 553 KMT of wheat to Egypt’s market in April, i.e. 46% of total exports that month and the largest volume since October 2013.

It is also worth noting that Ukrainian wheat exports to Turkey expanded in the last two months. Turkey purchased 113 KMT of wheat from Ukraine in March-April. In total, Turkey imported 140 KMT of Ukrainian wheat in MY 2016/17 that is already 25% more than for the whole last season.
