Ukrainian farmers are completing the sowing of spring crops and sugar beet

14 oblasts of Ukraine have fully completed the sowing of spring crops. So far, 12.9 million hectares of grain, leguminous and oil crops, as well as sugar beet, have been sown. In particular, 5 million 619 thousand hectares were sown with cereals and legumes, of which:

• spring wheat - 271 thousand ha;
• spring barley - 810 thousand ha;
• peas - 139 thousand ha;
• oats - 146 thousand ha;
• corn - 4,015 thousand ha;
• buckwheat - 120 thousand ha;
• millet - 49 thousand ha.

Agricultural farms in Vinnytsia, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Chernihiv and Chernivtsi regions have completed sowing of spring crops.

As for the sowing of oil crops, sunflowers were sown on an area of 5,284 thousand hectares, soybeans on 1,774 thousand hectares.

Sowing of sugar beets has been completed, it was carried out on an area of 213 thousand hectares.
