Ukraine harvested almost 62 mln tonnes of grains

Ukraine as of November 25 had threshed 61.6 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops from 13.6 million hectares (95% of the forecast).

According to the press service of the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry, with the forecast being 5.9 million hectares sunflower has been harvested from an area of 5.87 million hectares (99%) in the amount of 13.4 million tonnes.

Corn harvest from 3.6 million hectares (84% of the forecast) amounted to 22.4 million tonnes. Buckwheat was collected from 149,000 ha (100%) in the amount of 192,000 tonnes. Millet was harvested from 104,000 ha in the amount of 191,000 tonnes (100%).

Some 4 million tonnes of soybeans were harvested from 1.8 million ha (96% of the target).

Sugar beets were dug on 266,000 ha or 91% of the target (12.7 million tonnes). The yield is 477 centners per ha.

The ministry anticipates that Ukraine's grain harvest this year would be 64 million tonnes.
