A trade turnover of agricultural products between Ukraine and Germany in 2017 increased by $223.9 million and reached $846.9 million.
Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food for European Integration Olha Trofimtseva said this at the 15th annual meeting of the German-Ukrainian Agricultural Committee, the press service of the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine reported.
"There is a positive dynamics in the trade turnover of agricultural products, which increased by $223.9 million and amounted to $846.9 million in 2017," Trofimtseva noted.
She also focused on effective cooperation between the two countries within the framework of bilateral projects that help create a stable basis for the development of foreign trade of the Ukrainian agribusiness.
In turn, Parliamentary Under Secretary to the Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture Michael Stübgen noted that the Government of Germany saw Ukraine as a very powerful agricultural player with great potential in the global market. He added that five projects were implemented with the support of the Federal Ministry.
The German-Ukrainian Agricultural Committee meets annually to assess the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation, in particular, the implementation of common projects in the agricultural sector, as well as to discuss new promising areas for further cooperation.
