Ukraine Exports 17 Mln Tons Grain July 1-March 11

Ukraine exported 17 million metric tons of grain from July 1, 2009, the beginning of the current marketing year, and March 11 this year, practically the same amount as in the corresponding period in the previous marketing year, the Agriculture Ministry said Tuesday.

Grain exports in January totaled 1.7 million tons, and in February 1.182 million tons.

The ministry said wheat exports between July 1 and March 11 totaled 7.86 million tons, compared with 8.67 million tons in the same period the previous marketing year.

Barley exports totaled 4.7 million tons, compared with 5.3 million tons a year ago.

Corn exports totaled 4.3 million tons, compared with 2.8 million tons a year ago.
