Ukraine Exports 14.9 Mln Tons 2009 Grain To Jan 25

Ukraine exported 14.9 million metric tons of grain harvested in 2009 between the beginning of the current marketing year July 1, 2009 and Jan. 25 this year, the Agriculture Ministry reported Wednesday.

Wheat exports during the period totaled 7.3 million tons, barley exports 4.1 million tons and corn exports 3.4 million tons.

Ukraine harvested in 2009 46 million tons of grain in clean weight, which is 13.7% less than in 2008. The agriculture ministry said earlier it expected Ukraine to export in the 2009-2010 marketing year
16-17 million tons of grain compared with 25.2 million tons in the 2008-2009 marketing year.
