Ships with grain leave ports of Ukraine tomorrow. Quoting Nicolai Prisiazhniuk, Minister for agrarian policy of Ukraine, the decision was adopted today during the meeting with N.Azarov, Prime Minister of Ukraine.

Ships loaded with grain will leave to specified destination. The opportunity to complete loading of ships, that was suspended owing to Governmental regulation to introduce quotas on grain export, will be provided as well.

According to L.Kozachenko convictions, President of Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation (UAC), “the Governmental decision will get the positive feedback from members of the grain market, as it will enable to minimize losses of grain companies and deliver grain cargos to the ports of destination”.

Commenting the news, S.Stoianov, UAC Director General, noted that such decision of Ukrainian Government is the first step to build a dialogue between business community and authority.

“If Cabinet of Ministers also consider the pleas of agricultural public organisations (UAC, UGA) concerning impermissibility to sell quotas by auction, we can claim that both parties are into a normal dialogue”, said the UAC Director General.

S.Stoianov explained that additional expanses of grain companies on export quotas including export grain, will turn into direct losses of companies around one billion hryvnas.

“But it is unlikely the Government will want that. In that case we would once more appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to provide opportunity of distributing quotas as it was in 2006 ”, the expert resumed.
