Along with growth in flour exports, wheat bran shipments from Ukraine keep expanding too, despite a decline in the commodity’s production in the country.
Wheat bran exports in July-April 2017/18 were up 9% on the year at 553.7 KMT against 506.7 KMT in the same period in MY 2016/17.
Traditionally, Turkey continues to be the top importer of Ukrainian wheat bran, absorbing 89% of its total exports.
The European Union sharply boosted imports of wheat bran. 10.1 KMT was supplied there in the reporting period against 4.4 KMT in the whole of MY 2016/17. A similar rise is observed in supplies to Egypt, which purchased 8.1 KMT this season against last year’s 0.6 KMT.
As a reminder, Ukrainian exporters shipped abroad 615 KMT of wheat bran in MY 2016/17.
