European farmers support Ukraine - Copa-Cogeca statement

Copa and Cogeca fully support the European Commission proposal to suspend import duties on all Ukrainian exports to the European Union.

Copa-Cogeca stance:

EU farmers and their cooperatives express full solidarity with our fellow Ukrainian farmers and agri-cooperatives. The proposal made by the Commission on Wednesday is an initiative to re-organise supplies exceptionally and temporally in both Ukraine and EU in view of the Russian aggression. Considering the humanitarian needs, the war context, and the exceptional and temporary nature of the proposal, we support it. EU food standards, and those on safety in particular must be respected, and we will monitor together with the EU institutions its implementation to avoid and prevent market disruption, especially in the most sensitive sectors.
