EU Approves Syngenta GMO Corn For Use In Food, Animal Feed

The European Commission Monday approved a genetically modified corn variety developed by Syngenta AG (SYT) for import in food and animal feed.

The corn, known as MIR6045, was found to be safe by the European Food Safety Authority for import. The commission’s approval, however, won’t allow farmers to grow the corn in the European Union.
