During eleven months of 2009, Ukraine increased grain share in the general commodity exports

In January-November of 2009, commodity exports from Ukraine totaled 35.6 bln USD, imports – 40.4 bln USD, which totaled 56.6% and 50.1% compared to January-November of 2008 respectively.

According to the data of the State Committee of Statistics of Ukraine, the share of grains in the general volumes of commodity exports increased from 5.4% to 8.9%, the share of fats and oils of vegetable or animal origin – from 2.8% to 4.4% compared to the same period of 2008. At the same time, the share of fertilizers decreased from 3% to 2.2%.

Ukraine provided foreign trading contracts with partners from 212 countries of the world. The highest volumes of export supplies were provided to the Russian Federation – 21.2% from the general export volumes, Turkey – 5.3%, China – 3.8%, Kazakhstan – 3.7%, Belarus – 3.3%, Germany and Poland – 3.1% each.

Ukraine received the majority of import supplies from the Russian Federation – 28%, Germany – 8.6%, China – 6.1%, Kazakhstan – 49%, Uzbekistan – 4%, Poland – 4.9%, Belarus – 3.7%.

During eleven months of 2009, exports of unmanufactured raw products totaled 35.3 mln USD, or 52.2% compared to same period of 2008. At the same time, Ukraine imported finished commodities, made from unmanufactured raw material, at the sum of 39.2 mln USD (62.4% compared to the level of the previous year).

Ukraine received foreign unmanufactured raw products at the sum of 1.55 bln USD (65.1% compared to January-November of 2008). Export volumes of finished commodities, made from unmanufactured raw material, totaled 2.47 bln USD, 65.3% against the same period of the previous year.

In November 2009, Ukraine exported commodities at the sum of 3.96 bln USD, imports totaled 4.51 bln USD, which totaled 107% and 85.6% compared to November 2008, respectively. At the same time, in November 2009, credit balance deficit totaled 542 mln USD, in the same month of 2008 – 1.55 bln USD.
