The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, held a meeting in Kyiv and Odesa with the newly appointed Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Great Britain, David Cameron, and held negotiations with him on the expansion of the international coalition in support of the Peace Formula, new ways of exporting Ukrainian grain and providing Ukraine with additional weapons, in particular, strengthening air defence.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the British side for the strong support of Ukraine and noted the key role of Great Britain in consolidating the efforts of partners to increase the defence capability of our country and continuing this support until Ukraine wins over the Russian Federation.
"I am especially grateful to my colleague for recognizing Ukraine's significant successes in the Black Sea. Our naval forces have won a number of victories that impress the whole world, they pushed the Russian fleet away from our shores, we were able to resume the export of Ukrainian grain thanks to the support of Great Britain in particular. During this visit, we also agreed on a very clear list of next steps that the Ukrainian and British governments should take to bring our victory closer," said Dmytro Kuleba.
The heads of the foreign policy departments also discussed the promotion of the export of Ukrainian grain after visiting the Odesa trade port. David Cameron confirmed the determination and willingness of the United Kingdom to support Ukraine on its way to victory over Russia.
"I am especially glad to make my first visit as State Secretary for Foreign Affairs to Ukraine. I am glad to be here in Odesa, on the Black Sea coast, where the Ukrainian Navy has shown significant progress in defeating Russian attacks and strengthening control over this important sea route. We have also introduced a new tool that will improve the insurance of ships that will use this sea route. This step will be of great importance for Ukraine's export earnings and its economic recovery," David Cameron emphasized.
