The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine calls on the international community to consider banning the purchase, import and transit of wood from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, as well as Russian fish and seafood.
According to the data of the project card, Resolution No. 8337 has been adopted, reports Ukrinform.
Thus, the VRU appeals to the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union, the World Trade Organization, governments and parliaments of foreign countries with a proposal to consider the issue of establishing a ban on the purchase, import and transit of wood and all wood products under customs codes 44, 47, 48 and 94 in accordance with the Harmonized system of description and coding of goods originating from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, including those produced from Russian and Belarusian raw materials in third countries.
In addition, the Ukrainian parliament calls to consider the issue of establishing a ban on the purchase, import and transit of all types of fish and seafood of group 03, commodity items 16 04 and 16 05 in accordance with the Harmonized system of description and coding of goods originating from the Russian Federation, including such, that are produced from Russian raw materials and products in third countries.
Also, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appeals to prohibit the sale, supply, transfer, export, lease to Russia and Belarus of equipment and its components used for logging, wood processing, and harvesting and processing of fish and seafood, as well as to prohibit the maintenance of such equipment.
At the same time, the Ukrainian parliament calls for the introduction of a refusal to recognize all certificates of Russian products by environmental certification systems that still operate within the Russian Federation, in particular the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).
