Grain harvest in Ukraine in 2016 would total 64 million tonnes, Agricultural Policy and Food Minister of Ukraine Taras Kytoviy has said.
"We expect that this year we would have a record-breaking harvest of 64 million tonnes with average yield of 44 centners per ha," the minister said.
He said that the indicator is the highest in the whole history of Ukraine's independence. The minister said that the highest figures were recorded in Vinnytsia (5.4 million tonnes), Odesa (4 million tonnes), Poltava and Kharkiv (around 4 million tonnes) regions. Winter crops are sowed on 7.4 million ha.
