Agrarians of Ukraine sowed spring crops, grains and leguminous plants throughout 640 thsd ha

As of March 29, agrarians of Ukraine sowed spring crops, grains and leguminous plants throughout 640 thsd ha, which totaled 15% of the general forecasted areas, as opposed to 700 thsd ha on the same date of the last year, declared Nikholay Prisyashnuk, the Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine.

According to the Minister, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea completed the sowing campaign of early grains and leguminous plants throughout 69.6 thsd ha (116% of planned areas), Odessa oblast sowed early grains and leguminous plants throughout 159.6 thsd ha (69%), Kherson oblast – 87.2 thsd ha (47%), Nikolaev oblast – 115.4 thsd ha (60%), Zaporizhzhya oblast – 93 thsd ha (42%).

According to the Minister, the warm weather conditions supported the sowing campaign process. Agrarians provided the additional fertilizing of winter crops sowings throughout 3.6 mln ha as opposed to the index of 4.5 mln ha last year.
