The world autumn demand in fertilizers stimulates Ukrainian producers to increase capacity utilization and provides hope for successfully completion of the season. At the same time, prices for chemical industry production continue rising.

For the first time after the crisis fall of prices, ammonia prices started growing and producers of chemical commodities decided to export surpluses of the product.

According to Alexander Shatokhin, the director of the department “Azotexport” of the concern “Stirol”, in December, the price of ammonia will reach the level of 290-300 USD/t. Ukrainian chemists will increase ammonia exports, because the price level of 300 USD/t will both defray production costs and provide earnings for the first time in the current year.

During eight months of 2009, Ukraine exported 219 thsd tonnes of ammonia nitrate, Turkey (48 thsd tonnes) was the main buyer of the product. The average price totaled 148-150 USD/t.
