Ukraine Oct 1 Grain Stocks -7% On Yr At 23.4M Tons

Grain stocks in Ukraine on Oct. 1 totaled 23.4 million metric tons, 7% less than on the same date last year, the state statistics committee said Thursday. The grain stocks included 13 million tons of wheat, 6.2 million tons of barley, 1.1 million tons of corn and 900,000 tons of rye.

Out of the total amount, farmers held 13.4 million tons of grain, 9% less than a year ago, including 6.9 million tons of wheat, 3.5 million tons of barley, 600,000 tons of corn and 400,000 tons of rye.

The rest of the grain was held by grain storage and processing enterprises.
