Since the beginning of this year, Ukraine has shipped 194.4 thousand tons of agricultural products to Africa on 8 vessels, including 46.5 thousand tons of wheat. In particular, the fourth vessel as a part of the initiative «Grain from Ukraine» has recently left the port of Chornomorsk. The name of the ship is AMIRA HANA and it will deliver 30 thousand tons of wheat to the port of Djibouti, and from there the Ukrainian grain will be shipped to Ethiopia. In total, Ukraine has already delivered 238.3 thousand tons of wheat to Ethiopia, which is on the edge of famine.
Since the launch of the Grain Initiative, the largest amount of agricultural products was shipped to Africa in October 2022. At that time 25 vessels were dispatched with a total tonnage of 571.4 thousand tons of agricultural products.
Over the past seven days, Ukraine has shipped 871 thousand tons of agricultural products through the grain corridor. 387 thousand tons of corn were shipped and 287 thousand tons of wheat. In total, 673 vessels with 18.4 million tons of Ukrainian agricultural products have already passed through the corridor.
Unfortunately, the daily number of vessels leaving Ukrainian ports has not increased over the last week. This number is still the lowest in almost 6 months of the corridor's operation with just 2–3 vessels per day. The main reason for this is the artificial obstruction of the grain initiative by Russian inspectors.
