Ukraine Harvests 47.09M Tons Grain To Nov 19

Ukraine harvested 47.09 million metric tons of grain to Nov. 19 on 15.22 million hectares, or just over 98% of the total area to be harvested, with an average yield of 3.09 tons a hectare, the agriculture ministry said Friday.

The ministry said the corn harvest, which is still continuing, to date totaled 9.3 million tons on 1.8 million hectares, or 88% of the total area to be harvested, with an average yield of 5.02 tons a hectare.

The agriculture ministry earlier forecast Ukraine’s grain harvest this year at 45 million tons, down from the 53.3 million tons harvested in 2008.
