Ukraine Exports 16.557 Mln Tons Grain To March 2

Ukraine exported 16.557 million metric tons of grain between the beginning of the current marketing year July 1, 2009 and March 2 this year compared with 16.307 million tons in the corresponding period in the previous marketing year, the Agriculture Ministry reported Friday.

Grain exports in January totaled 1.7 million tons, in February 1.182 million tons and in the first two days of March 175,300 tons.

The ministry said wheat exports between July 1, 2009 and March 2 this year totaled 7.674 million tons, including 236,300 tons in February and 74,600 tons in March. Barley exports totaled 4.528
million tons, including 341,500 tons in February and 55,400 tons in March. Corn exports totaled 4.157 million tons, including 587,900 tons in February and 45,100 tons in March.
