President of Ukraine stands for lifting the moratorium

President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko is calling to lift the moratorium on trade in agriocultural land. This prohibition is hindering investments into agriculture, into development of the sector's infrastructure.

President also pointed out that nowadays 7 millions Ukrainians owns plots for agricultural production use. President also expressed his opinion that moratorium leads to criminalization of land relations. President said that in his interview to Ukrainian Business Resource.

Victor Yushchenko said: "This [moratorium] throws us far back in introduction of market mechanisms in agriculture, on the other hand, it significantly criminalizes  this sphere, because against the background of seeming impossibility of land trade there are numerous schemes for withdrawing agricultural land from active production use".
