NIBULON Impressed the Netherlands by Scale and Impressive Vision of Logistics Development in Ukraine

NIBULON participated in an International Conference "Innovation in Agrofood and Logistics" in Rotterdam (the Netherlands) in December 2017.It was held with the assistance of Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The goal of the event was the development of Ukrainian-Dutch cooperation in agriculture and logistics, in particular practical issues of innovation, infrastructure development, trade and business development in the agricultural market. The conference has become a good opportunity for entrepreneurs from both countries to communicate directly with potential business partners.

NIBULON’s presentation about the way the image of the country’s logistics can be changed by the example of one company attracted special attention of the participants. The guests expressed their frank admiration for the fact that there are companies in Ukraine that don’t wait for help from the state, and independently create modern transport history of Ukraine. Many were impressed by NIBULON´s scale and impressive vision of logistics development in Ukraine, by modern and environmental approach to use inland waterways, techniques and state-of-the-art equipment. The participants learned with interest about capabilities of the unique MYKOLAIVETS self-propelled dredger, which successfully performed experimental work on deepening of rocky bottom at one of the rapids of the Dnipro River in November.

Vsevolod Chentsov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Kingdom of the Netherlands stressed that the presentation of NIBULON at the conference would contribute to the positive image of Ukraine and was an important component of Ukrainian-Dutch relations.

Oleksii Pavlenko, co-chairman of the Ukrainian-Dutch Joint Business Council, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine (2014-2016), also supported NIBULON's report. According to him, NIBULON is the only Ukrainian company that enjoys confidence of the leading international financial institutions.

As the event organizers point out, the Netherlands has consistently maintained the status of the 6th largest trading partner of Ukraine in the EU and the 2nd largest investor in the Ukrainian economy over the past few years. At the same time, the Kingdom is also the 2nd largest buyer of Ukrainian agricultural products in Europe, covering almost 17 % of the country's agrarian exports on the continent. The rapid growth of bilateral trade between Ukraine and the Netherlands conditioned by the implementation of the Association Agreement and the functioning of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area between Ukraine and the EU; it also raises the issue of cooperation between two countries in the field of infrastructure in a new way.

NIBULON and the Netherlands enjoy long-term successful cooperation. In 2004, having an individual license of the National Bank of Ukraine to invest abroad, we established our subsidiary in the Netherlands.

The Embassy of the Netherlands in Ukraine has been supporting Ukrainian business for many years. In October 2016, visiting NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard and NIBULON's transshipment terminal in Mykolaiv, Kees Klompenhouwer, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Ukraine, noted that the Netherlands would support NIBULON and help it to solve the problems with the development of inland waterways in Ukraine.
