The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation increased the estimation of grain losses due to draughts from 11 mln tonnes to 13 mln tonnes, declared Elena Skrynnik, the Minister of Agriculture, on September 2.
According to the Minister, the current year draughts became the most large-scale natural disaster of the recent ten years. Grains perished throughout nearly 4.5 mln ha, over 8 thsd agricultural economies suffered from draughts.
