Ukraine is widely regarded as the ‘breadbasket of Europe’. Yet, the government, under pressure from the International Monetary Fund, has been cautious to opening up the sale of agricultural farmland to foreign investors.

In an interview with UATV, Leonid Kozachenko from the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation explains why local citizens should have priority over the ownership of land and why selling off inefficient state-owned land could generate some $2 billion in revenue for the country.
