Russia Harvests 101.4 Mln Tons Grain To Nov 11

Russia harvested 101.4 million metric tons of grain in the year to Nov. 11, down 12.5 million tons from the same date last year, the agriculture ministry said Wednesday.

The average yield to date was 2.38 tons a hectare, 0.14 tons less than on the same date last year.

The wheat harvest to date was 63.4 million tons, compared with 66 million tons a year ago. The barley harvest to date was 18.7 million tons compared with 24 million tons a year ago.

Russia harvested 108.1 million tons of grain in 2008.
