Another 60 thousand tons of agricultural products were procured within the framework of «Grain from Ukraine» initiative, - the results of the meeting of Mykola Solskyi with the representatives of the World Food Programme

Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi met with Deputy Country Director of the World Food Programme in Ukraine Marianne Ward.

As a part of regular negotiations in the process of execution of the initiative «Grain from Ukraine» the parties discussed the current state of things and further steps for the implementation of the humanitarian food program.

During the meeting, Marianne Ward informed that the World Food Programme had purchased another 60 thousand tons of Ukrainian agricultural products.

The humanitarian grain will be loaded on two ships in the port of Chornomorsk and dispatched to Ethiopia. The first vessel «Amira Hana» is already awaiting inspection by the Joint Coordination Center (JCC) for entry.

Mykola Solskyi expressed gratitude to the partners for the comprehensive support of the Ukrainian initiative.

The parties agreed to coordinate in future the actions in providing humanitarian assistance to the poorest countries of Africa and Asia to prevent famine.

It should be reminded that «Grain from Ukraine» is a food initiative aimed at providing grain to the countries on the edge of famine. It is implemented in the partnership with the World Food Programme. The amount of accumulated funds raised by international partners for the Ukrainian initiative «Grain from Ukraine» is around 200 million USD.
