During ten months of 2009, Ukraine increased grain share in the general commodity exports

In January-October of 2009, commodity exports from Ukraine totaled 31.65 bln USD, imports – 35.9 bln USD, which totaled 53.5% and 47.6% compared to January-October of 2008 respectively.

According to the data of the State Committee of Statistics of Ukraine, the share of grains in the general volumes of commodity exports increased from 5.1% to 9%, the share of fats and oils of vegetable or animal origin – from 2.7% to 4.5% compared to the same period of 2008. At the same time, the share of fertilizers decreased from 3% to 2.2%.

Ukraine provided foreign trading contracts with partners from 209 countries of the world. The highest volumes of export supplies were provided to the Russian Federation – 20.8% from the general export volumes, Turkey – 5.3%, China – 4%, Kazakhstan – 3.9%, Belarus – 3.3%, Italy – 3.1% and Germany – 3%.

Ukraine received the majority of import supplies from the Russian Federation – 26.8%, Germany – 8.7%, China – 6.1%, Kazakhstan – 5.4%, Uzbekistan – 4.5%, Poland – 4.9%, Belarus – 3.6%.

During ten months of 2009, exports of unmanufactured raw products totaled 29.2 mln USD, or 47.4% compared to same period of 2008. At the same time, Ukraine imported finished commodities, made from unmanufactured raw material, at the sum of 36.5 mln USD (60.1% compared to the level of the previous year).

Ukraine received foreign unmanufactured raw products at the sum of 1.37 bln USD (61.6% compared to January-October of 2008). Export volumes of finished commodities, made from unmanufactured raw material, totaled 2.13 bln USD, 60.1% against the same period of the previous year.

In October 2009, Ukraine exported commodities at the sum of 4.17 bln USD, imports totaled 4.33 bln USD, which totaled 74.2% and 57.2% compared to October 2008, respectively. At the same time, in October 2009, credit balance deficit totaled 164.1 mln USD, in the same month of 2008 – 1.95 bln USD.
